Fantastic Quote
We depend on systems created by people who have no concept of the role their systems are being created for, and we end up with standalone, expensive technology that is unstable and not supported after 5pm
It's rare I find a quote worth posting, but this defiantly hits the nail on the head. Where ever systems are developed, whether they influence the lives and jobs of millions or a small companies, you see systems that have been developed by interviewing and asking middle and upper management how the new system that the workers depend on works; when in fact these people are so far removed from the every day workings of the company and the requirements of the system that 9 times out of 10 the final system is "Over Developed".
Too much complexity, too much training, or as a guy on the "coppers blog" put it, "Totally Bobby Proof".
